Jot is a quick and easy way to get creative, take notes, sketch, and capture content on your screen. It makes note-taking and sharing feedback with colleagues and friends a breeze by removing the steps required to get your thoughts and ideas to (digital) paper. Jot makes your pen experience fun and intuitive.

Jot is designed to work across your screen space, whatever programs or apps you use. You can use Jot to draw and write over the top of screenshots, insert notes into documents or programs, and share ideas through a simple menu and pen commands. Jot is accessible through espressoFlow. You can use it to glide between tasks and programs across your workflow with an intuitive menu bar that pops-up instantly when you need it. Once the Jot menu is open, you can perform a range of tasks to make your workflow more seamless.

Jot is bundled in with espressoFlow. Make sure you update espressoFlow to the latest version, then you’ll be ready to Jot your way to a fun and seamless creative experience. Hold the button on your espresso pen to initiate Jot, and tap your screen to open the quick menu. Once the menu is open, you can perform various helpful tasks.

All Jot features are accessed with a simple pen click and tap on the touchscreen display surface. Blank Jot: A simple way to open a clean, blank space to take notes, sketch ideas, or write a message to friends or colleagues before sending. Magic Jot: The perfect way to take content from one project to drop into another. Transition notes from a document and drop them into a chat stream, presentation slide deck, or share project stream. Magic Jot breaks down barriers to moving content between different applications and software programs. Screen Jot: Using the eraser side of your pen, take a screenshot of your desired screen space to create an image you can write over the top of. Perfect for sharing feedback, sketching over the top of project documents with ideas, or ensuring that you store live on-screen moments. Copy and Paste: Copy, paste or share any screenshot selection quickly and easily.

There’s nothing quite like Jot. Jot is unique as it is designed to connect and integrate how you work across your applications, platforms and workflows while helping you take notes. It’s simple, easy and always on hand when you need it to work for you. We came up with Jot as we could not find an application that could bring together the touchscreen experience to enhance note-taking, sketching, screenshotting, markups and written feedback.

Jot is a free download for people who have purchased an espresso Display and espressoPen. It has been developed based on feedback from our customers. Jot is also available for a one-off fee after a 14-day trial to anyone who wants to experience it.

Jot can be used on any computer screen with Mac OS (later than Ventura). You don’t need to use a pen but we highly recommend a pen and touchscreen to get the most from Jot.

Jot is only available for macOS Ventura (or later), but we are working hard to release a version for Windows users in early 2024.

Jot is not currently available for iPadOS or iOS. It is only available for macOS (Ventura and later).

Jot has been designed to work with a wide range of devices that utilise macOS (Ventura and later). There some variations in the experience when Jot is used without an espresso Display. Touch-enabled Jot menu: A keyboard shortcut will be required to access the Jot menu. espresso Pen: Specific functionality for espresso Pen will not be available on other touchcreen devices.
